Fresh as a Lettuce

After an extensive research of 'lettuces' I came to a definite answer to the question that Sarah D. had asked me last month: what kind of lettuce am I? I would have to say.... I am a "Red Leaf Lettuce" for the following reason:

"As for salad bowl above. As with all red lettuce, grow for appearance in salads, not the rather bitter taste." done.

Bubble Wraper Poper

I just want to show what a GREAT! gift I got just now @ work (from Anita!). I loooove the feeling of squeezing and poping each bubble. I have the control! I decide how many to pop and I can do it! I love bubble wrap! Ok, got to go pop some bubbles. I'll pop half of it and I'll save half for after lunch! yeah! can't wait.

My name is Alex, and I am addicted to Heavy Whipping Cream

yes! I confess it! I looove HWC. Note: if you are easily grossed out, don't keep reading ahead! (ok, I warned you) so, as I was saying...sometimes I daydream about drinking HWC out of the bottle, or in a tall glass with ice, or lightly whipped with a straw as if it were a shake! yum. I have had many oportunities to do it, but I'm so self concious about it! I'm sure it has a billion calories and besides you just don't do that! right? well...I I do it one day I'll describe how it went.

The Outside look...it sure counts!!!

Many people say, "lo que cuenta es el interior" (what counts is the 'interior'/inside) Liars! The outer looks does count to. How can you explain that when you go to a restaurant you feel more atracted to a piece of dessert that is decorated and plated nicely than if it wasn't. Why are you willing to pay extra$$$ for a "plated and decorated" food when you can make it at home? why? because you care about the appearamce! you do! no matter what anybody says. You want the works and you want the grits.
Now in real life don't go trhu life pretending you don't care about how others see you.
You do. I do. We all do.
Just like you care about other things' appearances, others care about your appearance. Yes, what matters is on the 'inside' but in order to get to the inside, we must first feel attracted to the outside and next desire the inside. So think about it next time you do something for your self or order your next plate for lunch.

Duck-ling Arround

Crispy Duck and summer veg rolls. I can eat this every day of my life, but I am not sure I could afford it, mean while I'll just look at this pictures while eating "Pollo Loco" every now and then...jajaja

Yummi...

Okay! I just want to show up my favorite thing at the High Desert Market Place... this is the "TURKEY AND CREAM CHEESE ON GRILLED FOCACCIA BREAD W/SIDE GREEN SALAD AND DRESSING OF THE DAY" Doesn't that sound that delicious!! When you bite into it the crispiness of the warm bread, it breaks in your mouth while enjoying the saltines of the turkey meat and the extra creaminess of cream cheese brings everything together. after each bite you take a refreshing bite of the green, fresh, crisp salad greens with the bitterness and sharp flavor of the dreassing cleanning your palette and preparing you for the next round!
mmmhhh... I'm getting hungry now...

The Spice Talk continues...

This is what Linda M says:

"I feel that the spice "chile piquin" would be the best spice that describes my unpredictable, spicy, spunky, tantalizing personality. It depends on how much you use it in what you are making...and also adds abit of "jazzy taste" shaken abit on any dish. Love the taste and can be used in so many ways, even shaking some in your shoes on a cold day, will keep your feet warm! Thanks for asking Miss Cinnamon. Hugs,Linda"

Soooooo... what's that about "chile piquin will keep your feet warm!" what? never heard of that you are crazy girl and yes you are such a "CHILE PIQUIN"...JAJAJA

It's Kim T's turn. she says she would be...Nutmeg...why? because its rich, warm, mild , earthy and sometimes a little nutty. Also because it reminds her of fall which is her favorite season...... aaawwww....

If you were a SPICE, which one would you be? and why?

What a question hu? Think about it, it might sound silly but if you give it a thought is tough! Yesterday while I was having lunch with some friends I asked them this questions and these were our answers: Sarah D would be Cardamon!
she said something like this (I'll paraphrase) ' It is a little subtle and a little goes along way' (I'll add it is not a common spice and a little excentric! too),

Melodi said she would be Paprika! because it is 'vibrant, colorful, present and it is a good base to build upon other spices! (I'll add to that,...that it it could be mild or very strong at times, depending on the type and combination with others). and me.....

I am CINNAMON, yeah! that's what I am. First of all I am light golden brown, not to dark and not too light...just right. It is usually related to sweet dishes, but if used right it goes very well with some savory dishes as well. It is subtle but very present. When something has cinnamon, you know it's there regardless of the amount. It is versatile and can be utilized in its different states: whole, crushed, powdered!!! It is totally an 'enhancer' to the main dish. It never wants to be the "star" but with out cinnamon the "star" wouldn't be the "star" OOOOhhhh yeah baby I am sooo cinamon!!!

If you were a spice? what would you be? and why!!!!!! think about it.......................
